
Born in Lisbon, in the summer of 1990.
Joanna started early on to freely explore her path in photography, in a self-taught way. Between 2010/12 she studied Photography in School of Technologies Innovation and Creation, where she simultaneously started working in Advertising.
Working from identity, timelessness, memory and essentially natural light, Joanna merges between digital and analogical photography.
Developing and materializing a series of photos, Joanna explores a "natural obsession" for portraying, she’s attracted to the combination of aesthetics and casualty.
Some of her work has resulted in publications for Vogue Portugal, GQ, Público and Time Out Lisbon.
With the first confinement she presents what would become her first short film "Looking for Peacoks". This work was shown through the "Femme Quarentine" category in the programming of the Porto Femme International Film Festival, in September 2020.
In 2020 Joanna co-founded the collective MANAAMANA, a space of freedom, thought and creativity in the feminine panorama of culture and art.
